Untitled[edit]

This article is very clearly POV against India, describing firing into the crowd as "indiscriminate". It also contains many grammatical errors, misconjugated verbs, etc. This article is in need of a name change (something more neutral than massacre) and major cleanup from someone more knowlegable about this incident. 70.63.146.124 (talk) 21:02, 2 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

removing POV tag with no active discussion per Template:POV[edit]

I've removed an old neutrality tag from this page that appears to have no active discussion per the instructions at Template:POV:

This template is not meant to be a permanent resident on any article. Remove this template whenever:
  1. There is consensus on the talkpage or the NPOV Noticeboard that the issue has been resolved
  2. It is not clear what the neutrality issue is, and no satisfactory explanation has been given
  3. In the absence of any discussion, or if the discussion has become dormant.

Since there's no evidence of ongoing discussion, I'm removing the tag for now. If discussion is continuing and I've failed to see it, however, please feel free to restore the template and continue to address the issues. Rebels[edit]

I've been asked on my talk page about some confusion in this article and was planning to deal with it, but I see that at the moment it seems ok. Although the article can discuss claims that the protestors were rebels, it cannot' state in Wikipedia's voice that they were rebels as clearly there is no agreement that they were. I have added some sources which clearly state that they were unarmed. The sources include local newspapers like Greater Kashmir and Rising Kashmir.
