Black Reel Awards article conventions
[edit]The creation of a separate article for every year of the Black Reel Awards doesn't follow Wikipedia conventions. Instead of a separate article for every year, please consider doing like Academy_Award, where each category of award is given its own page. Then, once a new award is given in a particular year, that info is added to the category article. In addition, having the same info in separate articles and in the main article seems extremely redundant. Best, --Alabamaboy 20:03, 23 May 2007 (UTC)
African-Americans
[edit]The article states that these awards are for African-American actors only, however Naomie Harris, who won an award in 2003 is British and thus obviously not an African-American. What is the actual eligibility criteria for these awards?--Jackyd101 23:15, 7 September 2007 (UTC)
On the same topic - Dev Patel (2008 recipient) is both British and Caucasian! In other words, technically, he is white - albeit with a dark complexion! Seems like the Black Reel folks have lost their direction? Not that it really seems like there's much of a need for a Black Oscar - plenty of gifted black actors and actresses out there that both make a good living and get plenty of artistic recognition as well. Oh well. Thomas (talk) 14:51, 24 February 2009 (UTC)

Duplicate articles?
[edit]Black Reel Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress, Television Movie or Limited Series is the same as Black Reel Award for Best Supporting Actress: Television Movie/Cable (but with slightly more filled out refs), both of which appear to be equivalent to (but more conventionally formatted than) Black Reel Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress, TV Movie or Limited Series. Am I missing something, or should these be condensed into one page? pauli133 (talk) 14:37, 10 June 2019 (UTC)
- @Cmart514: it looks like you created all three articles - could you weigh in? pauli133 (talk) 16:52, 12 June 2019 (UTC)
