Spelling
[edit]"Lilliput" has a double "ll". Why doesn't the plant? Google also seems to think that it's liliputana. jimfbleak 13:54, 11 December 2006 (UTC)
- Hard to know. You'd need to ask Werdermann (the person who described the species), and he's dead now. - MPF 14:35, 11 December 2006 (UTC)
The official spelling is "liliputana" at the moment, so the article name has to be changed. DieTer-Xz
- The German spelling is Liliput, see German wikipedia, and the code of nomenclature states that the original spelling of a species name should not be changed except in some exceptional circumstances that concern the Latin terminations. Sminthopsis84 (talk) 13:34, 30 July 2014 (UTC)
Merger
[edit]Blossfeldia is a monotypic genus, so there should be one article at the genus name, as per WP:MONOTYPICFLORA. I've now merged the relevant material there. Peter coxhead (talk) 13:50, 1 April 2017 (UTC)
