Blue Nile (state) → Blue Nile State – Since its official name is "Blue Nile State", putting parentheses is pointless and contrary to WP:NATURAL. Similar argument was used to move Khartoum State, see Talk:Khartoum State#Requested move 25 August 2023 FuzzyMagma (talk) 11:26, 17 September 2023 (UTC)
- Support per nom. So as to not disrupt consistency. I would however point out that New York is a touchy example as the article for the state is New York (state), not New York State. estar8806 (talk) ★ 14:31, 17 September 2023 (UTC)
That's right. New York state and New York city are both called New York, both officially and otherwise, so "New York (city)" would be entirely correct. It's just that "New York City" is luckily very common natural disambiguation. It's almost opposite of what's claimed for Blue Nile State. (Neutral on the proposal, though). Station1 (talk) 01:00, 18 September 2023 (UTC)[proposal amended]- Thanks for pointing that out. I think I should have used a different example. I am not sure if I can amend the original nom. But Blue Nile state or the State of Blue Nile is what this place is called as translated from its Arabic (original) name FuzzyMagma (talk) 10:03, 18 September 2023 (UTC)
- You could amend it, since no one else has commented yet, but I think that's unnecessary. Participants will hopefully judge the proposal about Blue Nile State on its own merits. Station1 (talk) 17:16, 18 September 2023 (UTC)
