Notability and additional sources
[edit]Hi Delta13C, thanks for your attention to this article, would be great to improve it! I'm wondering what gives rise to your notability concern though. The article could definitely use expanding, but the number of available sources is huge, and even includes attention from press beyond the United States. I'll go ahead and list some, both for the notability question and in hopes it'll help encourage work on the entry:

- https://www.theguardian.com/books/2016/oct/15/mothers-brit-bennett-review-debut-novel (second article from same publisher only counts as one for notability but could still be useful for expanding entry so I'll leave it here)

As this is really quite an enormous amount of coverage, and meanwhile, policy says, "Notability is based on the existence of suitable sources, not on the state of sourcing in an article" (WP:NEXIST), I'm not sure what prompts the notability concern here. Thanks. Innisfree987 (talk) 18:47, 3 January 2017 (UTC)
- Hi Innisfree987, Thanks for listing those sources. I will review them. I have to asked based on previous discussions elsewhere, are you a paid editor or have a conflict of interest that should be disclosed? Delta13C (talk) 19:09, 3 January 2017 (UTC)
- Delta13C, I am not and I'd appreciate it if you'd please link me to these discussions you mention that would give you any basis to make such a significant allegation. Innisfree987 (talk) 19:14, 3 January 2017 (UTC)
- I'm sorry but I remembered your username incorrectly! It was user Imdariusdurgan. Delta13C (talk) 19:41, 3 January 2017 (UTC)
- Oh, that makes so much more sense! Since we both worked on the Karen Civil entry (and actually, our names look a bit alike), can understand the mix-up. For what it's worth, I'm less certain than SwisterTwister that that user has been proven to be a paid contributor, but in any case yes that's someone else :) Innisfree987 (talk) 19:52, 3 January 2017 (UTC)

- Hi Delta13C, wanted to follow up about the notability tag you placed. Ok if I go ahead and remove it, given the extent of the sources available? You'll note, the "When to use" instructions for the notability template indicate that if sufficient sources exist, the notability template should not be applied, regardless of whether those sources are in the entry (or even whether they've been named at all, as on the talk page--just whether they exist out in the world, along the lines of WP:BEFORE). Thanks. Innisfree987 (talk) 18:10, 28 January 2017 (UTC)

- Looks alright to me. Please add them and make the article better! -Delta13C (talk) 18:45, 28 January 2017 (UTC)
- Thanks for the reply Delta13C, glad we're on the same page. And I likewise invite you to hop in and add some of these! The more the merrier. Happy editing! Innisfree987 (talk) 19:08, 28 January 2017 (UTC)
