Burn Bridge as a proposed conservation area

[edit]

According to Wikipedia guidelines, I understand that this discussion page is not the place for a general forum for opinions on whether or not Burn Bridge should be separately appraised as a conservation area - but we can use it to discuss what could be usefully included in the Burn Bridge article. You are very welcome to contribute information on the following, for example, and/or any other related matters:

  • Evidence for Burn Bridge and Pannal being separate entities for conservation-planning purposes
  • Grounds for designating any region(s) of Burn Bridge as buildings conservation area(s)
  • Grounds for designating any region(s) of Burn Bridge as wildlife or ecological conservation areas

Please note that Harrogate Borough Council is aware of this Wikipedia page, so it is worth using the article to give them full encyclopaedic information on the village which may help them to make an informed decision on matters which will affect residents.--Storye book (talk) 19:02, 20 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

UPDATE: In the event, Burn Bridge was excluded from the conservation area.--Storye book (talk) 13:26, 12 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Flooding history

Message to new editors

Please do not revert edits when you do not have full information about the history yourself. Not everything is in the Council archives or at Victoria Library, and the history of Burn Bridge did not start in 1968. Some evidence is held in private hands at Pannal, in the form of photographs. It is hoped that one day the photographs (or copies of them) might be deposited in local archives so that we can cite them. They have not been published, so are not yet in the public domain. Meanwhile the information has to remain in the article, so that it is not lost before the citation becomes available. Thank you for your patience.--Storye book (talk) 13:26, 12 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
