Do we know?

[edit]

The article doesn't even speculate on the critters behavioural quirks utility if any. Do we know why it will drum its hind feet, and do we know why it collects shiny objects? Do the woodrats with the most "bling" attract woodrats of the opposing gender, or will a really really hungry woodrat find something shiny and go to a woodrat with food? Or is there some shiny mineral that is beneficial in maintaining its nest chemically? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.181.254.50 (talk) 10:42, 8 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Suggested merge

[edit]
 Not done (Merged rejected)

The articles for Bushy-tailed Woodrat and Pack rat appear to describe the same animal, and have significant overlap in information. I have added a suggested merge tag. Chimpex 12:30, 8 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Strong oppose: Pack rat is an introduction to the whole Neotoma genus, whereas the article here is about the species Neotoma cinerea as opposed to the twenty-odd other species (the infobox of the target article is clear about that). That's why the article here says that it is the "original pack rat", and that's why some overlapping is to be expected. — Komusou talk @ 18:25, 8 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Strong oppose per arguments of Komusou. --Aranae (talk) 18:02, 27 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
20 days and no sign of the originator, I closed the proposal and removed the merge tags from the two articles. (Note that people who propose merges are *supposed* to watch them and close them...) — Komusou talk @ 20:45, 27 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
