Luang Prabang is not Byker Hill

[edit]

Luang Prabang is listed a couple of times as a version of Byker Hill. It's not. It's a different song, albeit one that clearly uses one of the tunes of Byker Hill. Luang Prabang is about returning crippled from Vietnam. Byker Hill is about the delights of being a miner in Newcastle. There's nothing wrong with lifting the tune of a folk song and putting it to new use. It's quite common, in fact, but it's not the same thing as making a new version of the song.
