Notability?[edit]

User:Netherzone I'm taking you up on that second opinion you offered. I started this one expecting I'd find more sources about the award - not just about the winners, which is what I think I need, based on this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Notability_(awards_and_medals)

Regarding that, the first citation provides in depth coverage. The book provides only a passing mention. The third source does not provide deep coverage. And then there are a bunch of sources with passing mentions. I may be clutching at straws here, is there any validity to say they add up to establishing notability? @CT55555 hello! I will have a look at it and also do some deep searches in the next day or two to see what comes up. I will go ahead and add what I might find to the article or here. How does that sound? Netherzone (talk) 23:52, 3 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
That sounds good! CT55555 (talk) 00:15, 4 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@CT55555 I did some fairly extensive searching, and I could not find anything in addition to what was already in the article, everything else is about the people who received the award, and notability is not inherited. Maybe this should be kept as a draft for now until some SIGCOV is published on the award itself (the draft only needs to be updated every 5 or 6 months to insure it's not deleted.) You could also move it to your user space by creating a subpage User:CT55555/Calgary Peace Prize which has less chance of being deleted. From there, you have the option to simply move it to article space (main space) as Calgary Peace Prize. Since you now have autopatrolled permissions, you no longer have to use AfC and can create articles directly in main space. Netherzone (talk) 16:31, 4 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. Your conclusions are what I predicted. The chances of SIGCOV coming soon seem low, but I'll keep it in draft and set up notifications just in case. CT55555 (talk) 16:39, 4 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
