"Max und Mauli"?

[edit]

The article says "Some Swiss German papers use the name 'Max und Mauli', while others use 'Calvin & Hobbes'.". I live in the german part of Switzerland, read lots of newspapers and have never seen this title before. This "fact" seems to get copied from website to website without double-checks. Is there any factual evidence somebody can present for this? I mentioned this problem half a year ago here and nobody responded, so I'm deleting this now. Peter S. 23:38, 23 Jun 2005 (UTC)

"Max und Mauli" confirmed

[edit]

When I lived on the Swiss border (on the German side), all the Calvin and Hobbes comics posted at our office were titled "Max und Mauli". This was the only name I knew of for the Calvin and Hobbes comic in German until a couple years ago. I haven't yet found any hard references I can make to this practice to justify writing about it for Wikipedia, but I continue to look. Does anyone else have any references they could provide? Fair use rationale for Image:Tommy-og-Tigern.gif

[edit]

Image:Tommy-og-Tigern.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Translation

[edit]

Could someone translate this?:

Muodonmuutoskone

Lassipallo

Peli, jota Lassi ja Leevi pelaavat. Lassi on usein todennut inhoavansa urheilua ja joukkuelajeja mm. lukuisten sääntöjen takia. Tästä syystä Lassin lempilajiksi onkin muodostunut hänen itse keksimänsä laji, Lassipallo. Pelin erikoisuus on ettei siinä ole valmiita sääntöjä, vaan niitä keksitään samalla kun peliä pelataan. Samoja sääntöjä ei myöskään koskaan käytetä kahdesti. Yleensä kaikki urheilulajit joita Lassi ja Leevi harrastavat muuttuvat ennen pitkää Lassipalloksi. Leevin lisäksi myös lapsenvahti Riitta on ottanut osaa peliin sarjan loppupuolella, ja pärjäsikin oikein hyvin sisäistettyään pelin tärkeimmän ajatuksen, "pudottuaan viisauden lähteeseen".

If you could, that would be great. --64.107.78.194 (talk) 20:16, 16 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I found the text above at http://fi.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lassi_ja_Leevi. I don't have a Finnish translator handy. —EncMstr (talk) 20:33, 16 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
