The town of Cape Jervis is located near the western extremity of Fleurieu Peninsula[edit]

The content of the article has been amended to state that the headland called Cape Jervis (headland) is the most westerly point of the Fleurieu Peninsula rather being the most south westerly part of the peninsula. The sources for the above include page 210 of Pub175, Sailing directions (enroute) north, west, and south coast of Australia and maps & charts in the following published maps:

  • Boating Industry Association of South Australia (BIA); South Australia. Department for Environment and Heritage (2005), South Australia's waters an atlas & guide, Boating Industry Association of South Australia, ISBN 978-1-86254-680-6 specifically page 184
  • South Australia. Department of Marine and Harbors (DMH) (1985), The Waters of South Australia a series of charts, sailing notes and coastal photographs, Dept. of Marine and Harbors, South Australia, ISBN 978-0-7243-7603-2 specifically chart 12
  • Hydrographic Department, Ministry of Defence (1983). Gulf of St Vincent and approaches (chart no. 1762). {{cite book}}: Unknown parameter |coauthors= ignored (|author= suggested) (help)

Online maps such as Google Maps also show that the Cape Jervis headland is the most westerly point of the Fleurieu Peninsula. By the way, the most south westerly point of Fleurieu Peninsula is a point on the coast of the peninsula between Fisheries Beach and Porpoise Head in Investigator Strait.
