China has a lot of breeds, I will do my best but if someone who knows the topic well jumps in I would be very happy. Charles Esson (talk) 06:00, 24 July 2008 (UTC)
Some notes on reading chines production figures
[edit]V1 International Conference on Goats
The down figure given is the weight of the combed down, the figure has to be multiplied by the yield ( also given) to get the down production, just as an Australian fleece has a weight and has to be multiplied by the yield to get the down production. Micron can't be reliable measured to an accuracy of less than a micron so I have tried to round averages to the nearest micron. Charles Esson (talk) 13:27, 24 July 2008 (UTC)
Expanding the article?
[edit]The article deals mostly with wool. What about other products, like milk, cheese, meat? Are there any significant differences between cashmere and other goat breeds? 91.150.108.209 (talk) 19:34, 28 April 2010 (UTC)
Copyvio?
[edit]I ran across a web site here with information that is used verbatim in this article. Prima facie I thought it a mirror site but it does carry; Copyright © 2014 Textiles in Depth.com. Powered by WordPress & ezyreader. Wikipedia:Copyright violations is pretty clear on these things and I am in the middle of other things at the moment so could someone look at this please? At next instance I will address this if no action is taken. Otr500 (talk) 13:51, 15 October 2014 (UTC)
- Thank you, Otr500, for keeping an eye out for copyright problems. The site you saw certainly is very similar to our page. I've looked at this with some care, and I'm confident that in this case the page was copied with minimal changes from us, probably (since it is dated 5 October 2013) from this version. Looking further back in the history of our page, you can see the gradual changes that led to that version, such as this and this. If you look back to the beginning of the history in 2008, you can see how the article was built up by stages. I don't think there's any problem here, and I've placed a {{Backwardscopy}} tag higher up this page; but please let me know if you see any other cause for concern. Thanks, Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 20:34, 15 October 2014 (UTC)
- I got called into work and didn't have the time to look closely plus I am working on a few other things. I asked and you answered and it appears you looked close enough to satisfy my concerns. Thanks for looking, Otr500 (talk) 01:07, 16 October 2014 (UTC)
Llandudno
[edit]Are the flock of goats on the Great Orme by Llandudno note worthy enough to mention here? I won't make the change myself without a second opinion.
