[edit]Goulding was born on 2nd January 1923 in Russell St. Dublin and died on St. Stephen's day 26th December 1998. He did not die of cancer he died of complications from a heart attack. This is fact and birth and death certificates can be produced if needs be.
The dates of Cathal Goulding's birth and death have now been corrected on several occasions by me and another associate of Cathal Goulding. David McKittrick's "date of birth" entry is wrong and this can be proven. Please stop changing back the date to the incorrect date.Coolavokig 07:01, 20 April 2007 (UTC)
- Reliable source says 30 December 1922, unless you're going to produce a different source it has to stay, that's the way Wikipedia works. One Night In Hackney303 07:10, 20 April 2007 (UTC)
- Let's cool it.
- Coolavokig, the easiest thing to do is to provide the reference for his birth cert.
- One Night In Hackney, Coolavokig seems to have known these people and has provided some valuable info on other WP people, so I wouldn't doubt his sincerity, although I can understand you're point about the reliable source.--Damac 08:49, 20 April 2007 (UTC)
- I appreciate that, but....as you're aware I finally sourced the date of birth, and he changed it to something else. I left a polite message on his talk page and it still gets changed back with an edit summary of CORRECT dates of birth and death (verifiable) - please stop changing to incorrect dates. As I'm sure you're aware my source takes precedent until a reliable source for the other date is produced. One Night In Hackney303 14:45, 20 April 2007 (UTC)
- On the issue of the birth date of Cathal Goulding I personally spoke to Mr. Goulding's son, also named Cathal, at the Workers' Party conference in Waterford on Saturday 21st April 2007. He confirmed to me that his father was born on 2nd January 1923 and died on 26th December 1998.-- Coolavokig 08:48, 23 April 2007 (UTC)
- I already stated to you via email what would be an acceptable way for this information to be sourced, and sorry this is not acceptable it is original research. Until a published source for 2 January 1923 is provided, the date can not be added. One Night In Hackney303 16:30, 23 April 2007 (UTC)
- So the son of a man, who lived in the same house as him for forty years or more, is a less reliable source than a journalist who may never have met him? Seems a crazy type of logic. Coolavokig 08:19, 24 April 2007 (UTC)
- No, he's a more reliable source, but until the information is published we can't use it. One Night In Hackney303 14:24, 24 April 2007 (UTC)
- I have now source a printed reference showing Cathal Goulding's 1923 birth. "Cathal Goulding: Thinker, Socialist, Republican, Revolutionary, 1923-1998" was published by The Workers' Party of Ireland on May Day, 1st May 1999. A brief biography of Cathal Goulding has also been posted on The Workers' Party website at http://www.workerspartyireland.net/goulding.html —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Coolavokig (talk • contribs) 07:36, 26 April 2007 (UTC).

Apologies, I ommitted to sign the above. Also to admit that I was incorrect in stating that Cathal Goulding was born in Russell Street, Dublin. He was in fact born in East Arran Street. Coolavokig 07:39, 26 April 2007 (UTC)
What's this entry about Goulding being the half-brother of the Behans??? It's reported as such on the Brian Behan page. Doug O'Connell (talk) 02:15, 2 April 2008 (UTC)
- No it isn't. There's no mention of Goulding on the Brian Behan page and it's not true. Coolavokig (talk) 06:19, 2 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit]Cathal is survived by only three sons, unless he has another I'm not aware of, young Cathal's twin died at birth. He also has at least one daughter, possibly two, depending on who you believe... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.141.200.81 (talk) 13:18, 25 September 2008 (UTC)
