Chester Wilson Emmons

... that in 1934, Chester W. Emmons (pictured) proposed that some fungi should be defined according to their structure, not the resulting fungal infection? "In his first medical publications, Emmons proposed redefining the genera of the main fungal causes of skin infection Microsporum, Trichophyton and Epidermophyton. His approach was to use their morphologies, rather than their pathological effects, pioneering what became the preferred method"...[1]

Overall: I cannot do a search on one of the sources, so I shall take that as AGF. Otherwise it's all fine, and a worthwhile article. Thank you for this. Just one point, which does not affect DYK: I think that the Later life and Personal and family sections should be swapped around, as they are chronologically confusing as they stand. Just my opinion.
