Number of technical groups[edit]

Whereas until the 2016 changes to Dáil statnding orders there could be only one technical group, this was never the case in the Seanad. The relevant standing order says "A group shall be a group so recognised by the Cathaoirleach and consisting of not less than five Senators" and has long done so. In principle there could have been two technical groups in previous Seanads but the senators did not want to divide thus. jnestorius(talk) 15:25, 29 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
