Uncited, notability met?
[edit]
There is nothing in that source to indicate it meets WP:RS, and it contains only three sentences. The rest of the article is uncited; the reliable sources only mention he was tragically shot. The bulk of the article is uncited. It's unclear that WP:PROF is met, or if WP:CRIME applies. Nothing in the sources given seems to indicate Carosino meets WP:PROF. Unless more info to address WP:PROF is forthcoming, it appears that we have some letters and an obit indicating that a fine physician was tragically shot and killed, but the article may not meet WIkipedia's requirements for encyclopedic inclusion, and WP:AFD is a possibility.
His article was deleted from the Italian Wikipedia. SandyGeorgia (Talk) 04:50, 19 March 2012 (UTC)
- The article could be a WP:BIO, but we would also like to suggest that it meets at least two of the WP:PROF criteria:
- 1. The person holds or has held a named chair appointment or "Distinguished Professor" appointment at a major institution of higher education and research (or an equivalent position in countries where named chairs are uncommon).
- He was the co-ordinator of the EURIPA research committee and a vice-president of the SIMG Emilia-Romagna Regional section. Please bear in mind that in Italy no department or faculty of General Practice / Family Medicine exists currently, so named chairs are uncommon.[1]
- 2. The person has made substantial impact outside academia in their academic capacity.
- He used that position to improve rural medicine across Europe and to promote rural research.[2][3][4]

I don't understand why his birthplace and his parents were removed — Preceding unsigned comment added by Tempuskenobi (talk • contribs) 14:34, 19 March 2012 (UTC)
- The paragraph was uncited.
Thank you for adding enough citations to establish notability, but please note that Wikipedia aims for encyclopedic tone, and is not a memorial, nor should our articles veer off into discussions of the children unless they meet WP:NN. Carosino's accomplishments should speak for themselves, without adding the kind of puffery that would be seen in a rural obit submitted by family members in praise of their father.
Also, I'm concerned there is still a fair amount of WP:COPYVIO in the article, but I'll leave that for a native speaker to work on. Also, please see our naming conventions WP:MOS-- we don't use the title Dr (partly because that is vague-- could be MD, could be PhD).
It is clear that Carosino was a wonderful man and excellent physician; please be sure that the text is free of copyvio and actually reflects encyclopedic tone supported by the sources so that any remaining tags can be removed quickly. SandyGeorgia (Talk) 14:41, 19 March 2012 (UTC)

Podcast
[edit]- Should we remove the Podcast reference? We reckoned that since Wikipedia offered such a template, we could used it in our references without being unreliable.--Tempuskenobi (talk) 15:22, 19 March 2012 (UTC)
University & Studies
[edit]The remaining uncited events regarding his studies are based on his professional curriculum vitae that was kindly sent to us by his wife. Unfortunately, it has been impossible to identify any other related online source. In particular regarding his university studies, we only found one (unreliable?) source[5]. Is it possible to leave at least this? We've seen several biographies in Wikipedia with no references as to the university studies.
Kind regards --Tempuskenobi (talk) 07:59, 20 March 2012 (UTC)

Clarification regarding the Carosino Prize
[edit]In the citation (http://www.vdgm.eu/index.cfm/spKey/exchange.hippohrates.financing.html) you can read: "for the best completed Hippokrates exchange to a rural practice in 2010 or 2011." The best completed Hippokrates exchange is based on the criteria listed on that page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Tempuskenobi (talk • contribs) 14:42, 19 March 2012 (UTC)
- OK, thanks, I'll work on that now, but then will be out of time for the day. SandyGeorgia (Talk) 14:44, 19 March 2012 (UTC)
- No problem, we really appreciate your hard work and contribution.
- He must have been a fine man ... that's all I have time for today (please check the wording I just added on the Award) ... there are only a few cn tags left, the article is in good shape now, no hurry on those. Best regards, SandyGeorgia (Talk) 14:47, 19 March 2012 (UTC)
- He surely was... Thanks for the correction concerning the Award; it's fine now.--Tempuskenobi (talk) 15:22, 19 March 2012 (UTC)
References in lead
[edit]Hi, I just came across this page randomly and wanted to point out: per WP:LEADCITE, usually the lead should not have very many references at all, but the two sentence lead on this article has 8 (for contrast, the 4-paragraph lead on Michael Jackson has 6). I see some of the citations are used multiple times, so those can probably be easily removed from the lead as they are redundant; for the ones that aren't, could their information be worked into the rest of the article? ClayClayClay 19:35, 20 March 2012 (UTC)
Hi there, thanks for the suggestion. We rearranged some citations and now the lead has four references. --Tempuskenobi (talk) 00:11, 21 March 2012 (UTC)
