Seton Hall Tenure
[edit]Clay Constantinou did an outstanding job at Seton Hall. He put the School on the map.
"Through his leadership the School has gained extraordinary growth and international prominence," while it may be true, is not cited or substantiated. Unless it can be somehow sourced that Constantinou himself was necessarily responsible for that growth etc., this statement is an example of post hoc creating a POV affect. They are correlated but not necessarily causal. Perhaps a wording change could help: "During his tenure" instead of "Through his leadership"...?
- I agree with your second point and think that the change should be made. As to your first point, it has been somewhat haphazardly answered by a one-lined addition from an IP user at the bottom of the page. I'm not sure I like its inclusion. Id move to a) remove it from the page or b) move it towards the information about his tenure as dean and soften it a bit. Mystache
observations
[edit]As a student at the Diplomacy school I am very happy with the Dean. He brought prestige to the School and made me proud to be part of Seton Hall.He put the school on the map. Through his efforts, world leaders gave lectures at the School. Look at the place now. It has been impossible to replace him and the school is floundering. We should brimg him back.I am going to start a letter campaign. We have to urge Monsignor Shearn to bring him back.
Added year and place of birth
[edit]I have found a reference for his year and place of birth under: http://politicalgraveyard.com/bio/conrey-coogan.html, where it states the following: "Constantinou, Clay (b. 1951) — of Colts Neck, Monmouth County, N.J. Born in New York City (unknown county), N.Y., 1951. Democrat. Presidential Elector for New Jersey, 1992; U.S. Ambassador to Luxembourg, 1994-99; delegate to Democratic National Convention from New Jersey, 2004. Still living as of 2004." I also know that he grew up in Cyprus from the age of 2 after his family moved to the village of Karavas a few miles west of Kyrenia (Girne in Turkish) on the north coast of the island (now in the Turkish-controlled zone). I know him personally from the time he was ambassador to Luxembourg, and have met him a few times since here in Luxembourg. hillwalker (talk) 13:07, 1 February 2008 (UTC)
