Changing the image[edit]

The reason I changed the picture is that the lighting is better. I thought it was otherwise the same. deisenbe (talk) 17:10, 7 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Deisenbe: Okay, understood. I changed it back only because I felt it was more appropriate to show the front face of the monument which carries the main inscription, despite any differences in lighting. If you would like to still that picture, or others, elsewhere in the article, feel free. Dominic·t 16:45, 8 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Good article?[edit]

@Dominic: Thanks for your work on this article. I'm curious, do you have any interest in nominating for Good article status? If not, I might see if editors at WikiProject Sculpture and/or Black Lives Matter have an interest in doing so on your behalf, or do so myself. Thanks! ---Another Believer (Talk) 13:22, 9 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Image of demolition[edit]

I have added an image from yesterday of the monument's remaining base being demolished. It is a grainy and somewhat embarrassing photo, mainly because it was taken on an iPhone at long-distance, because there were 2-3 police units guarding the site the whole time I was there, and the police tape was set up very far back. But since this was a moment in time, I don't know if there will ever be a better alternative. There are more images of this from other angles in Category:Confederate Soldiers and Sailors Monument.
