Cormoran Strike is.......[edit]

"Cormoran Strike is a series of crime fiction books..." In that the covers of the UK editions state "A Strike novel" this seems misleading - 'Cormoran Strike is a character in a series of crime fiction books...' would seem more accurate. For comparison, the wikientry for Temperance Brennan reads "Temperance Deassee Brennan is a fictional character and TV show character acted by Emily Deschanel but created by author Kathy Reichs, and is the hero of her crime novel series (which are usually referred to as the Temperance Brennan novels)" which makes the position much clearer. Manual of style in this and related articles[edit]

There appears to be some confusion into the type of grammar and vocabulary to use in the Cormoran Strike related articles. Although the Wikipedia Manual of Style recommends using words common to all varieties of English particular dialects are normally used if there are strong national ties to the topic (see Wikipedia:Manual_of_Style#National_varieties_of_English for more information). I would therefore recommend using British English as the series is written by a British author and they are set in the United Kingdom which is the rationale behind using it in the Harry Potter articles.

Secondly: I would recommend using the term private detective over private investigator. Although the Wikipedia article uses the term private investigator primarily it does also recognise private detective which is the term used in the Strike novels and it is used in the Sherlock Holmes article which is also associated with Britain. As for punctuation: the novels use single quotation marks for primary quotation and double marks for secondary quotation which is the style generally used by modern British publishers, although the mainstream media tend to use double marks for primary quotation as in US English, and sentence spacing is not not used in the novels. Therefore I would recommend using single quotation marks for primary quotation unless double marks are used by the source cited. As for spelling: the novels use an S in the 'ise' suffix e.g. 'realise' as opposed the Z used in US and Oxford spelling. The novels however use the US spelling for 'jail' as opposed to the official British 'gaol' as many Britons are more familiar with it owing to American popular culture. Category:Fictional British police officers[edit]

Reception[edit]

Shouldn't this article have a short summary of reception . Cormoran strike has recieved generally positive reception, particularly the first 3-4 books .
