African American?

[edit]

Was he Naturalized as a US Citizen? If not, isn't it inaccurate to refer to him as African American rather than just African? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.25.175.141 (talk) 13:43, 11 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, see article. He was naturalized in 1868.Parkwells (talk) 21:47, 2 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Later survivor

[edit]

It appears there is a later survivor of the Atlantic slave trade. Redoshi (later known as Sally Smith) was kidnapped from West Africa by slave traders and was brought to the U.S. in 1860. She lived in Alabama until her death in 1937.[1][2][3] HLE (talk) 21:47, 3 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I've added brief material about Redoshi, who is thought to have been another captive on the Clotilda.Parkwells (talk) 15:47, 6 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
