Clean-up needed
[edit]The sections on movies and theatre seem to contain good info, but translating this into proper English is a must. --Bora Nesic 01:46, 5 March 2006 (UTC)
Main images irrelevant
[edit]The images seem irrelevant as it seems there is no text about the subjects — Preceding unsigned comment added by 97.115.225.231 (talk) 18:55, 1 November 2022 (UTC)
Television
[edit]As the arrangement of aerial antennae on roofs differed depending on wether TV-owners watched one of these channels or one from Western Germany, especially during the 1950s and '60s, viewers of Western TV were prone to denounciation by patriotic neighbors or FDJ members.
This was not necessarily the case. As many border (and Berlin) transmitters were situated fairly close to those of the "rival" broadcasters in many areas it should have been possible to receive both on the same antenna (Ochsenkopf being the main exception due to the different frequencies making the necessary aerials very distinct in appearance). In any case for most viewers it wouldnt be a case of Watching (DFF) channels or one from Western Germany they would have surely availed of both ? It should also be mentioned that by the 1980's the authorities were largely resigned to the presence of Western broadcasts and even tolerated the existence of communal antennas and cable systems. 213.40.111.40 (talk) 12:12, 17 May 2009 (UTC)
