Update/notability?

[edit]
The following discussion is closed and will soon be archived: outcome was: merged/redirected

Hi.

RE: Update. Does this subject still exist and operate? I can find no sources which confirm that it does.

RE: Notability. Even if this subject did exist, relative to WP:BROADCAST and WP:GNG, what notability criteria does it meet? Personally I'm not sure it has any notability independent of the shopping centre in which it was transmitted (CCTV?) or the parent station which operated this channel (RTÉ). WP:BROADCAST doesn't normally consider every single "TV channel" (which effectively this was) to be notable. (Per the guideline: "individual 'channels' [..] are not presumed notable, as they can be added and dropped at will [However] individual channels can be notable if they meet the primary criterion of having received independent media coverage".) I can find NO INDEPENDENT COVERAGE of this subject whatsoever. To the extent that either this or GNG would seem to be met.

Thoughts? (If none, I'm tempted to merge/redirect this to Dundrum_Town_Centre#Media. As, otherwise, I don't see how this subject has independent notability). Guliolopez (talk) 12:48, 19 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Merge

As above, absent any other thoughts or suggests, I proposed to merge the limited amount of cited content here to Dundrum_Town_Centre#Media. And redirect this title there. I propose that because there is nothing to indicate that this CCTV advertising broadcast meets WP:BROADCAST, and no sources that I can find that suggest WP:GNG or otherwise is met. Happy to convert to AfD, but perhaps its worth at least retaining the title. As a simple redirect. Otherwise I don't see how this CCTV advertising feed has any notability independent of the building into which it is "broadcast".... Guliolopez (talk) 15:51, 12 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Bump. Unless there are other thoughts or alternative suggestions (in the coming days), then I'm just gonna go ahead with this merge/redirect. I've gone hunting for additional sources (to try and confirm if this "TV channel" has any notability independent of the TV station who manage(d) it, or the shopping centre which pipe(d) it to a few screens) and I can find nothing. Unless someone comes up with something more (or suggests something different), I'm just gonna merge the few supported lines. And redirect the title. To Dundrum Town Centre#Media. Soon.  Resolved. It's been a month or more since I opened the above thread. In that time I could find zero sources to support the text, establish the independent notability of this "TV channel" or otherwise find anything to suggest that a standalone article is warranted here. Absent any other feedback, I've gone ahead with the redirect. And merged the (frankly very scant) supported content to Dundrum_Town_Centre#Media. Closing thread.
