Party representation in the House of Reps[edit]

@Devonian Wombat, Totallynotarandomalt69, and MarioBayo: No doubt some of you will note that today I have reverted changes made by you regarding the party. The party has indeed been registered and it is pretty clear that Le is a member. What is also very clear is that she has not changed her registration on a parliamentary level. You can see her registration on her parliamentary profile here, in the list of independent MPs here, and in the latest published Hansard on page iv here. Since Le is not representing DLFCN in parliament, the party does not have a parliamentary presence. I have removed any claims that it does from {{Composition of Australian House of Representatives}}, Dai Le & Frank Carbone Network, List of political parties in Australia, and Dai Le, and where appropriate I have added an explanatory note stating that Le is a member but does not currently represent the party.

This is a similar situation to Wilson Tucker in WA, who is a member of the DSP (admittedly deregistered) but sits as an independent, and is the inverse situation of Ralph Babet in the senate, who sits as a member of the UAP even though the party is no longer registered. This is because parliament is only concerned with the party affiliation that the members advise the parliament of.

Consequently, please do not make the above-mentioned changes until Dai Le actually changes her registration to the DLFCN. I am sure it will simply be a matter of time until it is done, but until that point it is entirely incorrect to state that the party is federally represented. 5225C (talk • contributions) 08:57, 9 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Seems reasonable enough, similar if less clear-cut to how David Pocock is technically not an independent but instead a member of a political party named "David Pocock". Devonian Wombat (talk) 09:02, 9 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I believe it's pretty much the same situation with Pocock, in that he's a member of the party (only used as an electoral tool) but chooses not to declare his affiliation to parliament. 5225C (talk • contributions) 02:51, 10 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I wasn't sure myself of whether to add that information or not because I knew she was an Independent but thought, 'maybe Parliament just hasn't updated the info yet.' Anyhow, cheers! — Preceding unsigned comment added by MarioBayo (talkcontribs) 09:28, 9 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
