Why does "Dapper Dan" redirect here?[edit]

Is there some good reason why a WP search for "dapper dan" redirects to Dan Duryea? "Dapper Dan" was the nickname of a 1920s gangster, the name of a club in Pittsburgh, of a Hasbro dress-up toy, and a fictional pomade brand in the Coen Brothers' film "Oh Brother, Where Art Thou?". How is "Duryea" pronounced?[edit]

Personal life, "film noir"[edit]

Duryea was interviewed by Hedda Hopper in the early 1950's and used the phrase "film noir?" I doubt it. The phrase wasn't in use among Americans that long ago. This needs a citation. I agree. The term film noir didn't become widely used till after 1960 and even then mostly among the more elite film critics who weren't known to the general public. For a mainstream actor like Dan Duryea to have used this term in an interview with,--of all people!--Hedda Hopper circa 1950 makes no sense. I can believe that Hopper would interview Duryea, and what the actor says sounds about right from what I know about the man but my sense is that this interview was edited and the words film noir substituted for,--I don't know what--crime picture, gangtser flick, thriller? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Telegonus (talk • contribs) 17:22, 13 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

pianist?[edit]
