Biased[edit]

There are very few footnotes, so while some of it might be factually correct, there is no way of checking up on the sources. Secondly, the second external link is written from a very anti-Sommer perspective, by a man who historically has an axe to grind with conservative Christians. He is not a reputable source.

− Thirdly, the introductory paragraph of this work is a guess, not a statement of facts. At the very least, that hypothesis should have a footnote where someone credible puts forth that idea. I would suggest Dayton Keesee's book "The Churches of Christ During the Civil War" as one who makes that claim and attempts to back it up. + Thirdly, the introductory paragraph of this work is an opinion, not a statement of facts. There appears to be a bias against Sommer by the original writer of this Wiki article.

Finally, there appears to be a bias against Sommer by the original writer of this Wiki article; toned down from what it could be, but biased nonetheless.
