This article was written by Dstokols which leads me to think that it may be a misplaced user page. However, Dr. Stokols' biography here seems to make decent claims to notability and I have found verification via Google search. James084 16:54, 7 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • Seems to be one of those WP:AUTO pages we get from time to time. He may indeed be notable, but this article is going to need major PoV cleanup. --Blu Aardvark | (talk) | (contribs) 08:00, 17 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

modifications to Daniel Stokols page[edit]

Per earlier suggestions about maintaining neutral point of view, I have omitted several personal biographical details and all listings of prior publications from the page. I believe that the remaining text (from the earlier version of the page) is both accurate and neutral.

review of edited page[edit]

I just went back to the page to see if my edits were added (ie., deletions of personal biographical details, publication listings). However, the page looks the same as before I edited it. Please advise how to make sure that the edits are saved when the "save page" button is clicked, which I did.

If the page cannot be edited, please advise how I can remove the page from Wikipedia altogether. Thanks-

The edits were saved, but I reverted them. It's considered something of a faux pax to edit your own entry on the wiki if you have one, and you certainly are notable enough to have one. Please discuss any changes you consider important to the article here. If they make sense, don't advocate a POV, and dont remove information that someone may wish to know, either go ahead and make them after other editors have agreed, or someone else will add them for you. -Mask 18:46, 24 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

requested edits of page[edit]

I am a newcomer to Wikipedia so I am not up on all of the etiquette or procedures for editing and moving pages around. My requested edits for the editors' consideration are: (1) to remove the listings of awards in the first paragraph unless you think any of that information is relevant and appropriate and conforms to neutral point of view; (2) remove the second paragraph altogether; and (3) remove the complete listing of publications (unless you suggest I should keep a few of them for readers' reference). I am proposing to retain the rest of the information, including the HTML links to the history of our School of Social Ecology and my faculty homepage at UCI. Please advise, and I will make the edits accordingly. I would like to ensure that the information I've posted is accurate, relevant, and unbiased/neutral. I added this page initially after reviewing the page on environmental psychology, since that page lists a number of contributors to the field of EP.

I think the awards can stay, you earned them, after all. College work (majors and where you studied) should stay, remove the rest if you wish. As for your publications, take most of them out... leave the 5 you think are the most important. Go for it. -Mask 19:13, 24 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

response to suggested edits[edit]

Thanks for the suggestions, I'll make the requested edits now. Let me know if there are any other changes you'd recommend.

does Daniel Stokols meet per Wikipedia:Notability (academics)?[edit]

Per per Wikipedia:Notability (academics), I think his notability is questionable at best. Star767 (talk) 02:27, 30 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Blacklisted Links Found on the Main Page[edit]

Cyberbot II has detected that page contains external links that have either been globally or locally blacklisted. Links tend to be blacklisted because they have a history of being spammed, or are highly innappropriate for Wikipedia. This, however, doesn't necessarily mean it's spam, or not a good link. If the link is a good link, you may wish to request whitelisting by going to the request page for whitelisting. If you feel the link being caught by the blacklist is a false positive, or no longer needed on the blacklist, you may request the regex be removed or altered at the blacklist request page. If the link is blacklisted globally and you feel the above applies you may request to whitelist it using the before mentioned request page, or request its removal, or alteration, at the request page on meta. When requesting whitelisting, be sure to supply the link to be whitelisted and wrap the link in nowiki tags. The whitelisting process can take its time so once a request has been filled out, you may set the invisible parameter on the tag to true. Please be aware that the bot will replace removed tags, and will remove misplaced tags regularly.

Below is a list of links that were found on the main page:
