[edit]This what i've done is a fair use.. i really apreasiate that you care bout the people.. and it's correct what u do with the liscence ... anyway.. the things that i'm writing are fair use, and the picture File:Darkois a fair use. Write to darko on this email darko@m2.com.mk.. (you can check the email on this page: www.m2.com.mk) and he'll tell u that i'm permited to put the pic and the text on the page.. pleas do something cos i really need your help.. I've wrote u an email also.. where i'm explaining you the things so read it and please answer me.
Undoubtely the article needs a good rewriting and all, however I really dont understand why certain editors rush to delete it? It was once deleted already as i recall. Although I cannot provide sources right now, a known fact all over Europe is that DD is an internationally acclaimed producer who also worked for the Eurovision Song Contest. There are much less important persons, groups or events included in wikipedia, i really dont see why so much fuss about DD? Anyway, for now, I will try to rewrite it a lil bit and I will add the unreferenced tag, so it can stay until i bring some sources (that will be soon) Dzole 15:41, 30 October 2007 (UTC)
Hello.. i'm writing because the page is again on the list of speady delletition and again i don't know why? I've put so many things on the page.. including the songs and the people that he has produced for.. i've made a bigger biography.. and everything.. Also me and DD, we're planing to put more things on the page. I'm asking again..what should i do to save the page and how can i prove u that? He's an important person.. an important producer.. why should somebody delete this article? Please answer me.. best regards, Balabanivana 16:30, 30 October 2007 (UTC)
no speedy deletions anymore. the article is getting better and better little by little, we'll bring some sources and it will be allright. until then it will bear the unreferenced tag according to wikipedia policies Dzole 18:21, 30 October 2007 (UTC)
Ok, tnx a lot for the help:)) And one more question, i've made this page on macedonian language too but i can't put the info table with the photo and the info.. Do u know how to fix that? By the way do u speak Macedonian?! Best regards, Balabanivana 20:51, 30 October 2007 (UTC)
I checked Darko's article at the Macedonian wikipedia, its great that you made it, however it will need some cleanup, corrections etc. Its not a problem we can do it one day like we fixed this one. Im sorry i cant help you with the infobox there, I dont know how things work there (the templates and all). The best solution is to copy an infobox from some other article and edit it. Browse the mk.wikipedia and look for one. I suppose other people can help too. Greetings Dzole 21:12, 30 October 2007 (UTC)
- by the way, do we really need a complete list of his works here? I think that the fact he worked with some of the most notable Balkan pop stars, including Eurosong participants is a sufficient proof of his notability. I see no need to have an endless chaotic list of songs which will require a hard work (cleanup) since there are gramatical errors, typos and many other issues in it. Why we shouldnt have a nice compact article? For example, if there's an external site with a complete list of his works we can just link it and voala? I'll remove the list for now, you can revert or paste it back if needed at any time 21:18, 30 October 2007 (UTC)
I've tried to copy-paste an infobox from another page and it didn't work there were some errors.. anyway i'll try again .. or i'll ask someone else. And for the work list... well he told me to put it, i don't know.. i'll talk with him and we'll see.. Anyway i can put the list on freewebs.. as his site.. do u think that it will be a good idea.. He wanted to put the albums and some other stuff too, so mabye if i make a site there for the things he want we can put the link.. what do u think?! Anyway he really thanks u bout everything you've done, beacuse you've made a perfect job.:) 89.205.5.42 19:02, 31 October 2007 (UTC)
- Let me answer:
- Wikipedia automaticaly deletes links to personal sites hosted at freewebs. It considers them unreliable sources or spam cause anyone can build a page there and include misinformations or advertisement etc. On the other hand, I have seen many articles with links to various personal sites/blogs but the admins do not delete them?! Anyway, the best is if Darko has a proper official website or an official blog or at least a page at M2 production so we can link it. I found him on Myspace (check here) but i cant be sure if its really his blog or someone else made it without his consent.
- Regarding the inclusion of the list of his works in the article, beleive me, its a bad idea, it ruins everything. What we need is a clean and compact article. For long lists you have things like this: List of compositions by Johann Sebastian Bach, List of compositions by Ludwig van Beethoven or The Beatles discography. We can create a page like that, but another problem is that the list is full of typos, someone will have to clean it up, and the artists mentioned in it should probably be linked to their corresponding articles. Hard work.
- Also, I dont know if such article should be named List of works of Darko Dimitrov or Darko Dimitrov discography. I dont know if any recorded material belongs to discography or just officialy released albums, singles and compilations. Can you for example add unreleased demos or bootleg recordings that Darko keeps in his shelf into a discography article?? Dzole 12:07, 1 November 2007 (UTC)
Well Darko's official page will be made soon but i don't know if there is going to be all his work..but until then i'am going to put the list of his works as "Darko's discography" and i'll try to clean it up as much as i can. Anyway i don't see why do we have to make a proper articles for each artist from the list.. is it necessary ?! And about the demo's .. well i'll talk with Darko and we'll see what he's going to say bout that. Also, the link that you gave me from myspace is from his profile, that he has made, so it's not work of someone else. Greets Balabanivana 13:44, 1 November 2007 (UTC)
Im afraid you misunderstood some things:
- I didnt say we must make articles for each mentioned artist, but to link those that already have articles. Its not mandatory.
- I wanted to say that Im not sure IF demos and bootlegs belong to discography along with officialy released singles and albums. I didnt say you have to add them, its just a dillema which Im trying to discuss in the general discography and demo (music) talk pages. Hopefully someone will help me there.
- I trust you that the particular myspace page was created by Darko/or with his consent, however people may rightfuly object, as no valid proof was provided so far except your statement. But OK, as I already said, I've seen several other articles which included references to personal sites or blogs. Seems that Wikipedia rules are being often avoided and no one reacts.
- Darko will have to understand:
- Wikipedia is not a place to make an own self-promoting personal page (although this rule is also often blatantly avoided). He may contribute with properly sourced info, however the article Darko Dimitrov is not his own property. He has no special privileges to censor what to be/not to be included in the article. For example, many artists' articles may include criticism or controversy sections or something that the artist in question may dislike. A good article is a such that quotes credible and reliable third party sources (for example, not to quote what Darko said about himself, but to quote what some credible music critic said about Darko's work be it positive or negative)
- Unfortunately due to constant abuses Wikipedia obviously turns into a nonreliable source of information. Now the article is hmm more-less fine, however, soon someone can add dubious statements to it or even vandalize it. Thats why Darko should concentrate on making a proper official website which will represent his own official version of the story. On the other hand, we should try to link as much credible and reliable third party external sources be they positively or negatively oriented towards his work Dzole 16:32, 1 November 2007 (UTC)
