Did You Know
A fact from this article appeared on Wikipedia's Main Page in the "Did you know?" column on October 21, 2011.
The text of the entry was: Did you know ... that Max Adler had no idea his one-episode jock character Dave Karofsky on Glee would become the "nuanced" role of a closeted gay ex-bully and bearded prom king?

Any sources for him being of Polish descent?

[edit]

I've done searches but couldn't find a reliable source that lists him as being of Polish descent (however, lots of forums and blogs and tumblr do). I think I could improve the article if we could find one. Not A Superhero (talk) 06:20, 15 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I've never seen any reliable sources. If there had been anything authoritative from Murphy or Falchuk or Brennan, or even a snippet of dialogue, it would have been pounced on. I think the fan sites are extrapolating from the surname and that alone. BlueMoonset (talk) 15:27, 15 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Online

[edit]

I didn't completely read the article yet, but I think there should be some kind of reference to the Dave and Kurt ship "Kurtofsky", as it's become a staple basically in the fanfiction world. Also with that said, there should be something of a fan reaction to having him written off the show, as a severe disappointment. --Matt723star (talk) 19:41, 12 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

If you'll look at the Glee character articles in general, there isn't mention of the fan fiction worlds. This is due to a number of reasons, in part because discussing it beyond a passing mention would give it more attention than it frankly warrants, and mostly that there simply are not reliable, verifiable sources out there for such information by Wikipedia standards. WP:V, which discusses verifiability and sourcing, makes it clear that fan sites and articles about them by other fans would not be allowable as sources.
Something like "Kurtofsky", or indeed most any shipping or fan reaction or opinion, is what fan wikias or tumblrs or blogs are designed for. Wikipedia, as an encyclopedia, is not the place for it. BlueMoonset (talk) 21:57, 12 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Eh, it was worth a shot. --Matt723star (talk) 14:17, 13 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
