Not Encyclopaedic

[edit]

I'm afraid this reads like it was written by Mr Scarboro's parents or his agent, with no sense of objectivity.

It doesn't describe the nature of the tabloid allegations against Scarboro but categorically describes them as false, with no references. As far as I can recall the tabloids alleged that he was gay and/or a drug user. For all I know the allegations were false, but since (a) the poor man's dead and can't answer for himself and, (b) this is an encyclopaedia, not a fansite, let's describe the allegations AND the denials (if any) in detail.

I don't know enough about David Scarboro to write an authoritative piece, but I'm sure there must be someone out there who's up to the job. Whoever wrote the current version has a promising career in the North Korean media ahead of them...

I agree with your general point (and have added a {{sources}} template) but it's certainly not North Korea bad! --kingboyk 21:19, 11 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Suicide?

[edit]

I have read that the coroner's report lists the death as accidental. I think a lot of work needs to be done on this article. ExRat (talk) 07:39, 19 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Can you show us where you read that? anemoneprojectors 12:32, 19 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I came across this - Hollywood Up Close.com. I am not sure of the credibility of the site. However, the bulk of articles I have seen have stated it was his death was attributed to suicide. I think the article needs a lot of citations. ExRat (talk) 05:41, 20 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Does a letter from his father count? http://www.spiked-online.com/site/letters/11564/ Phosphiend (talk) 19:13, 11 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Drug user?

[edit]

I have a vague recollection of a TV programme shown at school whose warning was basically along the lines of -- look at this well known person who took drugs and then committed suicide. Am I imagining things? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Olires (talkcontribs) 11:44, 17 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

What drugs? Source please. Or retract. 2.31.164.112 (talk) 03:33, 23 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
