Dawsonia Nicholson, 1873 is a junior homonym

[edit]

It is unclear whether Dawsonia campanulata Nicholson, 1873 is a plant or an animal. However, whichever Dawsonia (incertae sedis) Nicholson, 1873 may turn out to be, it is a junior homonym because both the moss Dawsonia R.Br., 1811, and the trilobite Dawsonia Hartt in Dawson, 1868, where correctly described and published earlier. • Oppose - Also per WP:MONOTYPICTAXA: "The exception is when a monotypic genus name needs to be disambiguated. The article should then be at the species, since this is a more natural form of disambiguation." ~ Aseleste (t, e | c, l) 11:08, 18 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
