To merge De Akkers metro station crash into De Akkers metro station, while newsworthy at the time, does not have the sustained notability for a page. Klbrain (talk) 23:12, 26 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia is not a newspaper, and this is unlikely to satisfy Wikipedia:Notability (events). Not everything that happens, even quirky events that get reported around the world for 1 day, warrant a permanent encyclopedia article. There is unlikely to be lasting effects or continued coverage. This event can easily be summarized in a few sentences in De Akkers metro station. --Animalparty! (talk) 02:40, 3 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

See WP:SUSTAINED. Brief bursts of news coverage may not sufficiently demonstrate notability. Similarly, not every speech or interview by a politician warrants its own article even if hundreds of daily newspapers cover it. Newspapers cover what's noteworthy today. Encyclopedias cover what's noteworthy now and in the future. --Animalparty! (talk) 21:19, 4 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
