Seems to Check Out

[edit]

Okay, I just found this while patrolling new pages, and it seems to check out, even though it needs sourcing and NPOV. I'm going to try cleaning this up. If anyone would like to help, it would be most encouraged as I don't have too much experience dealing with controversial topics on wikipedia. Some sources to get us started: [1] [2] [3][4] Vickser (talk) 03:03, 1 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Just expanded the article. Had to revert the talk page since it got blanked. Vickser (talk) 03:59, 1 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Chemical burns

[edit]

Johnson's body showed evidence of chemical burns. Some published reports say this was from "acid" and some from "lye". Wikipedia article said "acid lye". Technically this is the worst possible way to phrase this, as lye is an alkali, which is chemically the opposite of an acid. I've changed it to the neutral "burns from a corrosive chemical". -- 201.17.36.246 (talk) 12:46, 24 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Good catch! I'd just tried to synthesize the sources, some of which (as you noted) said lye, and others of which said acid, and I assumed that meant lye must be an acid without actually investigating. I think leaving it as corrosive chemical is the right bet until we see reliable sources all starting to prefer one option. Vickser (talk) 16:46, 24 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Contrary evidence

[edit]

Do the sources support the claim that evidence of rape and battery are contrary to suicide? Tragically, the latter can and sometimes does follow the former. They aren't contrary. The Yar (talk) 16:08, 7 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
