This article needed some major cleanup on reference style. The author shouldn’t take this personally. Interesting article. Short but sweet. Perhaps someone can expand on this.--Kzooman 17:08, 2 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Since “WikiProject: Spam” has tagged “purevolume.com” as probable spam-links, I have removed its links from this article, however the links appeared to be in appropriate context and pertained directly to the “Degenerates.” I will replace the links if, after clarification from “WikiProject: Spam” it becomes clear that removal was not required. --Kzooman (talk) 18:36, 4 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Notability

[edit]

This article is notable because it is about a band whose members have gone on to play in other bands that were otherwise notable, and at least one of its members, [Scott Boman], is deemed notable for other reasons. --198.111.56.41 (talk) 01:56, 30 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed. John Collins now plays bass with the Chicago based group Mike Mangione & the Union, who have a record deal with Dualtone. The timing makes them one of Detroit’s first hardcore bands, and Scott Boman joined with significant players in the Kalamazoo hardcore scene while in Spite. I have revised the introductory paragraph to reflect this. While some work should still be done to improve this article, the template can be removed for now.--Kzooman (talk) 02:02, 1 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the help. The first paragraph looks better now. Since this band’s contributions preceded the internet, there is not as much information online about them as there is for more recent bands of less significance. There is a notable amount of information published on some of the former members that meets the minimum Wikipedian requirements.--Libertyguy (talk) 14:35, 4 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The photograph of vocalist Boman, Brannon, and Bowser helps put this act in context with other major influences of the era. [File: Bowser boman brannon.jpg] The paragraph reads better than the other version per history.--Pgapunk (talk) 16:51, 18 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hello fellow Wikipedians,

I have just added archive links to one external link on Degenerates. Please take a moment to review my edit. You may add {{cbignore}} after the link to keep me from modifying it, if I keep adding bad data, but formatting bugs should be reported instead. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}} to keep me off the page altogether, but should be used as a last resort. I made the following changes:

Assessment comment

This article should be rated as B-class and Medium importance IMHO. It is not real in-depth, but gives a good general overview of the "Degenerates" band. It has been Wikified to meet Wikipedia's quality standards.

==Rating Degenerates== I think Start class is more appropriate. While it meets with wikipedia quality standards, it is brief and more may be written about this recording artist in the future. I concur on the “Mid” importance though.
