MISLEADING STATEMENT - two

[edit]

I got no reply to my previous comment. Deke's Sharon figure, I insist, is not so relevant that he can be qualified as "the father of contemporary a cappella" as a matter of fact. So I implemented a really small modification, which however is not satisfactory. Actually my opinion is that "contemporary a cappella" has no good definition (the wikipedia article on "contemporary a cappella" redirects to "a cappella" so it does not explain at all what it is), so a lot of statements in the present article are not well-founded. I would be glad to read other opinions on the subject. Monday, 28 November 2011. wikifabio02.

MISLEADING STATEMENT

[edit]

The following statement: " pioneer of the contemporary a cappella style, commonly referred to as "the father of contemporary a cappella." " is probably based on some external link/comment, but it is really a nonsense: first of all because one should define precisely what means "contemporary a cappella style" (E.G. Swingle Singers, Acoustix, Singers Unlimited are "contemporary a cappella" groups or not? If not, please explain why. If yes, please explain why their activity developed when Deke Sharon, "the father of contemporary a cappella", was a baby....Second: if a "father of contemporary a cappella" existed, it's better to think of a more relevant and historically important figure than Deke Sharon (Ward Swingle? Bobby Mc Ferrin? Kirby Shaw? Gene Puerling?). I strongly invite to completely modify or cancel the statement I pointed out. Saturday, 8 October 2011. wikifabio02.

Hi there! To any and all interested: I've proposed a WikiProject dedicated to a cappella. This would be a group of editors interested in improving the quality of articles related to a cappella. If you're passionate about a cappella—ranging from the Pentatonix and DCappella to collegiate groups, perhaps pop culture representations like Pitch Perfect and The Sing-Off—please check out the proposal and share your thoughts!

Here's a link to the proposal for WikiProject A Cappella.

If you could see yourself contributing to an article related to a cappella (like this one), please consider joining!
