A significant fact about Doug Racine is that he yeilded the 2002 election for Govenor to the Republican. The Republican recieved 45% of the vote and Racine got 42%. Because no one recived over 50%, the legislature selected the Governor and could have voted for Racine had he challenged the vote. Because of this, Jim Douglas was elected Governor and has been one of the best Governors ever. I base this opinion on his election results since the initial election. Seems that Racine would get his chance. I am not sure if the democrats are mad at him for yeilding, but the democrats could have elected him Governor in 2002 regardless of whart he said.
