[edit]How do I link this page, Down Town Association, to the list of Private Clubs, which exists but search says does not. Private Clubs was highlighted in the text. Snbfarmer1 21:09, 27 July 2007 (UTC)snbfarmer
The description of the interiors was re edited to discuss original design and the usage of the clubhouse. The interiors of private clubs are integral to understanding the evolution of usage. The architects did not just design exteriors but fitted the interiors to the purpose of the clubs. Most club members of any club join as much for the facilities as for anyone they might know. The New York clubs and their popularity are inseparble from their buildings; suggesting otherwise assumes that the members would willingly meet in rented hotel rooms- they would not. The DTA interiors are among the most sumptious of the clubs in New York and are not open to the public. It is difficult to see how anyone interested in clubs would not be interested in how the buildings are laid out and used today and in the past. Discussion is welcome and I will be glad to submit other examples of this.Snbfarmer1 14:48, 26 September 2007 (UTC)
