Hello,
I am the owner of the blog: https://30squaresofontario.blogspot.ca/
and I wrote the posts,
https://30squaresofontario.blogspot.ca/2017/10/e-l-moore-wikipedia-entry-take-2.html
and, the associated first draft,
https://30squaresofontario.blogspot.ca/2017/09/full-first-draft-of-e-l-moore-wikipedia.html
I wrote those and posted them there because many of its readers have been a strong interest in E. L. Moore and I wanted their comments before I posted it here. I should point out that many readers of my blog would consider wikipedia too onerous to conduct the review that the material needed, hence using my blog to edit the initial drafts. In my preliminary research into wikipedia, I found it to have an intimidating learning curve given all the background material that has to be read and understood prior to giving it a try. If I had known this would have been an issue, I never would have posted the material at my blog. If you need to delete the material from wikipedia, go ahead. Wikipedia is too much trouble.
Also, is user Diannaa going to contact me in other than an auto-generated email to explain this situation and how to resolve it? I only ask because several blog readers have contacted me about trying to get this issue resolved instead of abandoning wikipedia.
Cheers, Jim Lowe
[20 Nov 2017 update: Is someone going to contact me regarding this issue? I find it odd that wikipedia is explicitly blocking drafts. I can't upload my own material with the intent of editing it into publishable shape. It seems to subvert the idea of collaboration. I started the article in my blog so that interested parties could comment and review and determine if the article was feasible, then move on to wikipedia once basic viability have been determined. Then when I upload the initial draft I'm blocked within 24 hours and accused of stealing my own material. I'd like to be able to discuss this with an actual person. Maybe I shouldn't be surprised. As I investigated this response on the web I see a number of articles stating that it is common for newbie 'editors' to be treated in such a disrespectful manner simply because they are not familiar with wikipedia's arcane rules. Frankly, it's a slog to get through them, and then to be kicked out is an insult.]
[21 Nov 2017 update: As recommended in the instructions I send in the email with my permission. I want to use the text as a starting point for the article; however, after the edits I have planned the final article will be rather different from the original.]
