I think it would be interesting to expand this article, just because it seems there should have been some sort of political issue with the DDR sending an olympic team to a country they didn't recognize the legitimacy of. I can't even begin to imagine how careful they must have been to make sure of the political loyalties of their team. Does anyone know anything about this?
