The Philippines was never connected to mainland Asia via land bridges

Leaving aside that you're talking about the islands themselves (so it should be were), are you guys sure about this? This map certainly seems to show at least the western islands well connected to Sundaland during the last glacial period. There may be a few straits worth noting or some regions of the Philippines that were left unconnected but it certainly seems like the blanket statement is false or (at best) highly misleading (at most, the plants had to cross straits of a few kilometers, not entire seas). — LlywelynII 05:44, 29 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
