E.F. or E.T. Cady?

[edit]

Source seem to disagree over this. The best source I've come across is Beckey, which gives the name "Capt. Edward T. Cady". Various other sources say E.F. or E.T. Cady for what is clearly the same person--the one this page is about. So which it is? There were other Cadys and two Cady Passes in Washington, just to confuse things. I'm trying to figure it out because according to Beckey Cady Pass (the southern one at the head of the N Fk Skykomish River) is of particular historical note. The other Cady Pass, north of US 20, seems less notable. Anyone able to shine some light on this? Who was this Cady person, and was he Capt. Edward T. Cady or someone else known as E.F. Cady? • His correct name is Edson T. Cady. He was mistakenly recorded as "E. F. Cady" in the 1863 Snomomish County census, and some people have used that initial without checking further. The census statistics are found in "An Illustrated History of Skagit and Snohomish Counties, Their People, Their Commerce and Their Resources" (Interstate Publishing Co.: 1906, p256) with a note saying "Initials should be E. T." Lexaxis7 (talk) 21:23, 8 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
