Italics, please
In the list of plays, the titles need to be in italics. Anyone got time to fix? Coughinink 12:27, 6 September 2006 (UTC)
Re: Categories
I don't think Albee should be included as a "Washington D.C. writer" at all. Apart from being born and put up for adoption there, he has no connection to D.C. whatsoever; he "lived" there for two days -- as a newborn. He's a New York writer, obviously. If no one objects, I'm going to remove this category. Also note: those last two edits by 71.192.137.122 are me. Forgot to sign in. Inoculatedcities 16:18, 31 January 2007 (UTC)
Photo
I feel like this photo is not the best one to include here. Perhaps a more recent photo would be better? Just a thought. ~Will 01:23, 27 May 2007 (UTC)
Quotations
The "Creativity is magic" line in the Quotes section is properly sourced, yet a few lines below under Discography there's a directly contradictory quotation. As the line is not a quotation from The Zoo Story, I'm deleting it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Sentientcabbage (talk • contribs) 05:30, 24 April 2008 (UTC)
Place of birth
"According to Magill's Survey of American Literature (2007), Edward Albee was born somewhere in Virginia (contrary to the popular belief that he was born in Washington D.C.)".
But the infobox says he was born in DC, so it seems the "popular belief" extends to us as well. -- JackofOz (talk) 07:19, 5 August 2008 (UTC)

Leverage reference?
The guys on Leverage pulled an Edward Albee (episode 43, the Ho Ho Ho Job) to break into a building (a couple act drunk to distract a security guard so somebody else can infiltrate, I guess). I'm assuming it was inspired by an event in one of his plays. Anybody familiar with his work and this episode? 99.162.156.99 (talk) 07:10, 1 January 2011 (UTC)
Should adjectives convey meaning?
“He currently is a distinguished professor at the University of Houston, where he teaches an exclusive playwriting course.”
“In 2008, in celebration of Albee's eightieth birthday, a number of his plays were mounted in distinguished Off Broadway venues.”
In an article about someone whose grasp of English is lethal, and whose use of adjectives sparkles, I’m sure he would groan (or worse) over these deadly feeble sentences. --Clifford Mill (talk) 11:21, 28 June 2014 (UTC)
BLP status change
Due to the death of this person, the BLP status of this article has changed. "This does not mean that unsourced material that would contravene the Biography of Living Persons rules can be added to this article. Capitalistroadster (talk) 00:16, 17 September 2016 (UTC)

Phonetic transcription of his name?
A phonetic transcription of the name Albee would be welcome. Is it 'ɔːlbiː or 'ælbiː? (My amateurish IPA usage probably needs some editing.) 84.177.104.11 08:11, 10 October 2006 (UTC)
- It's "AWL-bee", not "AL-bee" if that helps. Have no idea bout the IPA symbols to use. Inoculatedcities 16:19, 31 January 2007 (UTC)
- Yes, Inoculated is right. In the recent obit in either the Chicago Sun-Times or Tribune (sorry, I forget which) it was mentioned that Albee wasn't shy about correcting people when they said AL-bee instead of AWL-bee. 209.117.8.178 (talk) 18:32, 19 September 2016 (UTC)HelenChicago

Any English linguist on board who can explain why it is awlbee and not ellbee? Thanks, Albert — Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.76.85.12 (talk) 20:08, 16 March 2013 (UTC)
