Did You Know
A fact from this article appeared on Wikipedia's Main Page in the "Did you know?" column on June 10, 2009.
The text of the entry was: Did you know ... that Edward Riou (pictured) sailed with Cook, survived his ship hitting an iceberg, but died by being nearly cut in two aboard HMS Amazon at Copenhagen?

Iceberg

[edit]

The page on the HMS Guardian (1784) suggests that the Guardian's initial difficulty was striking an iceberg, not a hidden rock. Does anyone have any sources that would state which is the true case? --Badger151 23:01, 16 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

It was an iceberg. Benea (talk) 02:56, 5 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
