Comment

[edit]

(I'm offering the following for comment and discussion. As a young archeology student, I was shown a site on top of a nearby hill (El Quartelejo rests in a rather narrow valley close to a stream) that was supposed to have been the ruin of a small kiva. In the 1960's or 1970's there was a magazine article in some Denver or Colorado publication that mentioned not only a kiva, but also another site, many miles away, where once stood a pueblo, supposedly of larger size. My career never took me back to the plains of Kansas, but I just saw an article on "Unexpected Features of Western Kansas" and it brought back these thoughts. I may have photographs, if I can find them, of the tumble of rocks identified to me by an instructor as the kiva. I will add those if I can find them.)

The preceeding comment was posted on the main page by Painterredbear on 29 October 2007. I moved it to the discussion page where it seems more appropriate. StudierMalMarburg (talk) 21:54, 5 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Villasur expedition

[edit]

The Villasur Expedition met its demise at the confluence of the Loup and the Platte Rivers not at the Junction of the North and South Platte as listed in the article.

Removal of uncited content

[edit]

Most of the article was uncited content. Since it is easier to write from scratch - and less likely to be biased - I have removed the uncited content in this diff.–CaroleHenson (talk) 07:56, 26 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
