Hello!

I have A question for the next person to view this...

HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE IN A ELECTORATE???

I have Looked EVERY WHERE FOR IT but... I couldn't find any. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ogsmog (talkcontribs) 19:34, 2 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You probably got your answer some time in the last six years, but in case anyone else was wondering, an electorate can be any number of people voting in the same pool or electoral district. In an election for a city councillor, the electorate may be just a few thousand people. In a national referendum, it could be hundreds of millions. —Arctic Gnome (talkcontribs) 03:29, 3 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Redirect or disambiguate[edit]

Hi Bkonrad, thanks for the input. As the next step in WP:BRD can you please engage with the open discussion on this topic at Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Politics#Disambiguating_Electorate so that we can get a consensus? - Astrophobe (talk) 19:29, 9 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

This page is a disambiguation page, not really a part of WikiProject Politics. There might be interest in the fate of this page there, but it is unsurprising that it saw little participation. I suggest making a more prominent request to move this page to Electorate (disambiguation) in order to change this to a redirect or raise at redirects for discussion. Both are much more likely to get more participation than an unmarked question raised on a wikiproject page. olderwiser 19:41, 9 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
On second thought, this is not a redirect and would be inappropriate to raise at WP:RfD. olderwiser 19:44, 9 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
