Is she Latvian?

[edit]

She wrote in the German language, and seems to have lived her life entirely in the Russian Empire. There was no sub-unot of the Russian Empire called Latvia. There was Courland, and some of Livonia. Calling her Latvian seems to be an attempt to impose post-1918 realities retroactively on the past. At least based on the text we would seem to be best to remove her from all Latvian categories. If we could find a source that shows she was considered ti be in some wat Latvian, still the best Category would probably be Latvian people from the Russian Empire.John Pack Lambert (talk) 03:54, 1 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
