NPOV tag

[edit]

I added a NPOV, because as it stands now, it's written in a very sensationalist manner. "The substance of Engines of Creation is extraordinary. Various science fiction writers have used the concept of tiny machines and Drexler brings their wild tales to shame." Clear bias. Someone with more knowledge of this book then I should fix it. --Madmoomix 04:52, 19 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed. (Other user)

How about recommending this for clean-up instead? It's really written like a press release for the book. NPOV is one thing, but there's really no saving this one without completely re-writing it... Dannyseven (talk) 20:07, 13 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I've trimmed some of the POV, such as the sensationalist prose, and cruft (table of contents, quotes). I've tried to do the best that I can, but someone who knows the book better than I do would probably be better qualified. Autarch (talk) 13:42, 4 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Another user: Have added a section on controversy surrounding the book in order to make the page more neutral, could do with some better informed expansion. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 131.111.129.2 (talk) 19:33, 23 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

armchair nerd: Just a small quibble here, but the first paragraph that describes the book seems to imply that Drexler originated the "grey goo" scenario, which was proposed at least as early as 1984 in Greg Bear's novella "Blood Music." I'm not sure if Bear came up with it first or not, but Drexler certainly didn't. If not credit where credit is due, at least ensure there's not credit where it isn't due. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2602:304:B1B8:2170:B40E:ABAB:6B04:4953 (talk) 22:18, 12 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
