Why local school groups don't appear in this article

[edit]

The entries in this article are for broad-scope organizations that serve at least one state (in the US) or similar region (outside of the US). For this reason, specific school or school district groups shouldn't be included, because the list would quickly become too large, difficult to maintain, and would be far less useful to those seeking information with less targeted application.

How to determine what to include in United States government resources and legislation sections

[edit]
  1. Go to bill seach at http://thomas.loc.gov/home/thomas.php.
  2. For the current legislative session, search using the following phrases: school* AND green, school* AND sustainab*, school* AND environment*, k-12* AND green, k-12* AND sustainab*, k-12* AND environment*.
  3. Browsse the results for each search for appropriate legislation to include in the article for the current legislative session. Note that bills that don't focus on teaching sustainability and related subjects to students specifically shouldn't be included. For example, broad-scale, school building improvements, and general job training legislation isn't in scope for this article.
  4. Please use the formatting applied to existing entries.

Re: Removed federal legislation sections, as these are not now being updated for the current Congress

[edit]

I set this page up and included the legisltation information. I'm not tracking what Congress is doing (or not doing) currently, so it probably makes sense to remove the older information. If other authors would like to add this back and update, that's fine with me.
