Comment[edit]

"Taking part in the Invasion of the Soviet Union in 1941, Schroedter saw intense action and was twice severely wounded, requiring long periods of hospitalisation. In October 1941, he was promoted to Oberleutnant."
This paragraph, (two), mentions "long periods of hospitalisation", then "October 1941". If the German invasion of the Soviet Union started in late June 1941, that only gives him a few months to be "twice severely wounded" and to "require long periods of hospitalisation".
I think this part of the article could be better worded.
