Article Name[edit]

Subject's name was Evelyn, not Eve. See, Robert Louis Stevenson: interviews and recollections, ed. Reginald Charles Terry, (1996) University of Iowa Press. See also, article on James Young Simpson on Wikisource. (Also, numerous other Google hits.) She seems to have used "E. Blantyre Simpson" for her authorship credits. Any objections to moving it to her proper name? Tkotc (talk) 00:10, 5 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Just read the discussion about names, so scratch the above. Let people find the article as they will. Tkotc (talk) 20:44, 7 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

No! No! No! I specifically state in the biography that Eve Blantyre Simpson was christened EVE. You can check her birth certificate if you please. On no account is her name to be changed to 'Evelyn'. Those who have named her thus are merely being presumptous and think they are being clever! 'Eve' is a Biblical name and not necessarily a contraction for 'Evelyn'.
