One sentence , 4 questions
[edit]Queen Elizabeth II gave Royal Assent on 14 February 1954 after opening the Commonwealth Parliament during her 1954 Royal Tour. It was the first of the few Commonwealth Statutes enacted by the reigning Monarch.
- A few issues with the highlighted sentence.
- Does "Commonwealth Statutes" refer to the Commonwealth of Australia, or the Commonwealth of Nations?
- Do monarchs "enact" laws or give assent to them?
- Do non-reigning monarchs - the few who aren't dead, that is - ever have any involvement in the passing of laws?
- Does "the reigning Monarch" refer to Elizabeth II specifically, or to monarchs in general? -- Jack of Oz ... speak! ... 11:26, 15 March 2010 (UTC)
